Building a National Professional Infrastructure for Jewish Healthcare Professionals
AJMA is building the institutional presence, professional standards, and systems required to support this community across the healthcare system.
AJMA’s work is grounded in the healthcare system itself - built from within institutions, supported by a national network across disciplines and career stages, and strengthened through strategic partnerships with leading organizations.
The Gap
Jewish healthcare professionals have long been a significant part of the U.S. healthcare system, representing a meaningful presence across disciplines and career stages.
And yet, until 2023, they had no national professional home.
While other professional communities in healthcare built institutions that provide belonging, mentorship, and representation, this community operated without a unified structure or organizational infrastructure.
The events of October 7, 2023 and their aftermath did not create this gap - they made it impossible to ignore.
Antisemitism In Healthcare
Antisemitism in healthcare is one of the areas where the absence of professional infrastructure is most visible.
Unlike other forms of bias, there are no established reporting pathways, accountability frameworks, or organizations with the standing to address it at scale.
In healthcare, the consequences of bias are not just professional - they are clinical.
They affect patient care, provider safety, and the integrity of the system itself.
AJMA’s role is not to act as a crisis response, but to build the systems, relationships, and institutional capacity required to address these challenges in a durable and professional way.

Building the organizational and professional infrastructure that has historically been absent.
AJMA is the national professional organization for Jewish healthcare professionals.
It exists to build the infrastructure that supports this community across institutions, disciplines, and career stages - and to establish a credible, organized presence within the healthcare system.
AJMA’s work focuses on building the systems, standards, and institutional relationships required to operate effectively at a national level
What AJMA Does
AJMA’s approach is constructive and relationship-based.
The goal is not confrontation, but accountability through partnership, education, and sustained engagement with healthcare institutions.
Where specialized expertise is required, AJMA works with trusted partners such as the ADL and the Louis D. Brandeis Center.
This ensures that members receive appropriate support, while maintaining AJMA’s focus on institutional engagement.
