Bio: Dr. Howard A. Israel is an academic oral and maxillofacial surgeon known nationally and internationally for clinical research and as an educator in his specialty and on bioethical issues related to the history of Nazi doctors. He remains active as a lecturer and serves on the Holocaust Genocide and Contemporary Bioethics program at the University of Colorado Center for Bioethics and Humanities. Dr. Israel is the author of Nazi Anatomy Lessons – A Dissection of Evil, published by Vallentine Mitchell Books in January 2026, a book that emphasizes drawing lessons from history to help build a society that heals suffering rather than creating it.
